Minister of Tourism and International Travel, Hon. Denise Charles announced that Caribbean Airlines will begin flights into Dominica from Antigua and Barbados and later from Trinidad.
She said, “We expect Caribbean Airlines to start service from September to Dominica from Antigua and Barbados. They have sent a schedule for September. They have flights from Antigua to Dominica and Barbados to Dominica and once the Trinidad borders are open, we will have direct flights from Trinidad to Dominica on Caribbean Airlines. That will open a whole other gateway for us”.
The Minister said that this will benefit travellers as it is easy to get many cost effective flights into Trinidad from the US mainland. Thus travellers may possibly see a saving of about two to three hundred US dollars in total ticket costs.
The Minister further emphasized that the traveller would be able to get to Dominica on the same day.
