The Caribbean Democrat Union (CDU) is pleased to announce the successful participation of its delegates at the International Democracy Union (IDU) Forum 2025, held in Washington, D.C., from December 2–4, 2025. This year’s Forum gathered global leaders, policymakers, and democracy advocates to address some of the most pressing issues facing democratic societies. The conference agenda featured high-level sessions on global security, economic resilience, technological change, climate challenges, and the future of democratic governance.
Representing the United Democratic Party (UDP) of Belize were Angelie Perez, Earth Lopez, and Khalid Belisle. From Grenada’s New National Party (NNP), Senator Hon. Norland Cox and Christopher DeAllie Jr. Also in attendance was Mr. Nick Francis, representing the New Democratic Party (NDP) of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the CDU. Delegates actively participated in the various plenaries and panel discussions and Mr. Francis presented at the IDU Executive Meeting underscoring the CDU’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, deepening international cooperation, and equipping its members with the latest global insights in governance, security, and economic development.
The CDU delegation noted that forum plenaries resonated strongly with the contemporary challenges facing the Caribbean. Issues such as climate adaptation, digital transformation, energy security, and economic diversification are central to the region’s development agenda. The Forum provided an invaluable opportunity for Caribbean representatives to learn from global best practices, strengthen networks, and articulate the region’s perspectives on resilience and democratic governance. The CDU expresses its appreciation to the IDU for hosting an engaging and informative Forum and commends the delegates for their active participation.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
