BWA DENN ART GALLERY AT SECRET BAY UNVEILS “NATURE SERIES” ART EXHIBITION, FEATURING WORKS BY MARICA HONYCHURCH AND MICHAEL LEES

The Bwa Denn Art Gallery at Secret Bay is pleased to announce the opening of its upcoming exhibition, “Nature Series”, a compelling dual showcase of work by Dominican creatives Marica Honychurch and Michael Lees. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday July 12 and will run through September 10, 2025.

Nature Series highlights the artists’ deep connection to Dominica’s untouched beauty. Through their distinctive styles, Honychurch and Lees present evocative representations of the island’s vibrant landscapes, dramatic coastlines, and tranquil rural scenes, each artwork refecting the true nature of Dominica.

Marica Honychurch, a renowned photographer, is celebrated for her impressionistic approach that captures the rich textures and colours of Dominica’s environment. Through her lens, Dominica is both familiar and ethereal—each image a moment suspended in time.

Michael Lees, best known for his thought-provoking documentary work, presents a series of photographic and mixed media pieces that delve into themes of solitude, survival, and spiritual ecology. Lees invites viewers to contemplate not only the landscape but also their place within it.

“Marica and Michael capture the island’s power and serenity in ways that inspire deeper connection and refection”, said Aaron Hamilton, Gallery Curator. We are honoured to bring their voices together in this shared space.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
