Describing the decision to establish the University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus as one of the most significant accomplishments of his administration’s tenure, Prime Minister Gaston Browne and his entire Cabinet were in a state of excitement, yesterday, after Sir Hilary Beckles made the official announcement that the fourth landed campus of the UWI had been approved.
In an interview with state media, the Prime Minister said that the government had to fight to achieve the historical decision, but that his government was committed to the cause and was unrelenting in its quest to have the UWI campus in Antigua and Barbuda.
