Two cousins – Yagya Bhatia(20) and Abhav Bhatia(14) were tragically killed in a hit and run accident in New Delhi after attending an Indian Premier League(IPL) match. The incident happened late at night on Ashoka Road shortly after they left a match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They were ridimg a motocylce back home when a truck hit them and fled the scene. Both were rushed to the hospital but were decleared dead on the arrival.
The younger boy Abhav would have turned 15 in just 3 days. He was on the phone with his father saying they would be home soon the call suddenly cut off at the moment of impact. Yagya the older cousin was a BSc student and aspiring cricketer even working as a net bpwler for an IPL player.
Police investigation has believe it was a hit and run involving a goods truck which has been traced but the driver is still absconding.
