Today, Bouyon Day 2019 is being recognized by bands and music artists in Dominica. Bouyon Day began as an initiative of Val Cuffy and DBS Radio, started in 2015 as a means of promoting Dominica’s own Bouyon music.

Bouyon music has been around from the late 1980s and at that time the WCK Band was the most popular band showcasing this music genre. Today, Bouyon music’s popularity is growing as it reaches far across the Caribbean and the world by extension.

Bouyon Day will converge with music bands and artists in Roseau later today.
