Barbados Launches “Pearly” App to Strengthen Community Engagement and Public Service Response

Prime Minister Hon. Mia Amor Mottley has announced the launch of Pearly, a new mobile application designed to give citizens a direct way to report concerns, track responses, and help create a safer, cleaner, and more responsive Barbados.

Speaking at the launch, Prime Minister Mottley said the initiative is rooted in the strong community values that have long defined Barbadian society.

She noted that many Barbadians grew up in communities where neighbours looked out for one another, checked on the elderly, watched over children, and took pride in their surroundings.

According to the Prime Minister, Pearly is more than just a technology platform. She described it as a partnership between citizens, communities, and Government aimed at improving communication, accountability, and service delivery.

The app will allow residents to report issues directly to the relevant authorities while tracking the progress of responses, creating a more efficient and collaborative approach to addressing community concerns.

Government officials say the initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen civic participation and encourage citizens to play an active role in national development.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
