Achievement Learning Centre (ALC) is proud to announce the receipt of a generous donation of assistive technology devices from A Better World Canada, made possible through the valued partnership of the IT for Dominica Foundation.

This donation marks another important milestone in ALC’s mission to provide equitable, inclusive, and innovative educational opportunities for children with diverse learning needs. The equipment will significantly enhance the Centre’s ability to deliver individualized support, enabling students to access learning in ways that best align with their unique strengths and abilities.

The donated equipment includes a range of assistive devices designed to support communication, sensory regulation, attention, and learning. Among the items received are noise-cancelling headphones, pressure vests, adaptive learning resources, and other assistive technologies that will help create a more accessible, engaging, and supportive learning environment for students.

ALC Executive Director, Beverly Leblanc, expressed her sincere appreciation for the partnership and the positive impact the donation will have on students and their families.

Programme Manager and Technology Lead, Ivy Benjamin, highlighted the importance of integrating assistive technology into daily instruction.

From supporting sensory regulation through noise-cancelling headphones and pressure vests to enhancing engagement and communication with assistive learning tools, this equipment will enable our teachers to provide more individualized instruction. We are excited to integrate these resources into our classrooms and continue building an environment where every learner can thrive.”
