NBD Launches “Plant-A-Tree” Initiative to Celebrate 45 Years of Community Commitment

In celebration of its 45th anniversary, the National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) proudly announces the launch of its “Plant-A-Tree” initiative, signifying its commitment to building a greener, more sustainable future.  This meaningful endeavour begins with the planting of 45 trees, one for each year of NBDโ€™s existence, in commemoration of this special milestone.

Recognizing the critical importance of instilling environmental stewardship values among the youth, NBD is delighted to partner with schools across the island.  The bank will generously provide fruit trees to participating schools, offering students hands-on learning experiences as they actively participate in the planting process.  Additionally, the program aims to beautify central locations within various communities.

Mrs. Suzanne Joseph-Piper, Executive Manager for Marketing, expresses her enthusiasm, stating, โ€œAs we celebrate our 45th anniversary, we remain committed to giving back to the communities that have supported us throughout the years.  Planting trees for the benefit of future generations is a testament to our dedication to sustainable practices and is just one of the initiatives under our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) programme.โ€

The โ€œPlant-A-Treeโ€ initiative will kick off with a tree planting event at the Portsmouth Secondary School on Thursday, November 16, 2023, followed by additional planting events throughout the year.  The bank is collaborating with both the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, Wildlife, and Parks Division, and the Ministry of Agriculture to carefully select trees that are ideally suited to their locations, thereby ensuring long-term sustainability.

NBD extends a warm invitation to community members, students, and their families to join in the tree planting events and welcomes fellow businesses to join in the shared mission of being stewards of our environment.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
