An anonymous donor recently organized a charitable fundraiser for the Dominica Dementia Foundation in the United States. The event raised over $7000 in donations.

Veronne Nicholas, the president of the Dominica Dementia Foundation, expressed gratitude to those who contributed towards the foundation’s work. “The Dominica Dementia Foundation is elated to have received this donation. We have a proposed program of activities we hope to implement to extend our membership however, our greatest concern was financing. With the donation we can achieve this” said Nicholas.

The Dominica Dementia Foundation was founded in 2016 by Rianna Patterson in memory of her grandfather, Terry Vidal, who passed away with dementia in Dominica. The foundation’s aims include spreading awareness about dementia, raising funds for families impacted by the disease, providing emotional support to families and caretakers, and promoting research on dementia.
