Boat Builders receive further training in building of climate smart vessels
Naval Architect and Boat Builder Derrick Menezes is on island training boat builders in modern boat building techniques to update their skills and build capacity to construct vessels which are sea worthy, climate resilient and modernized.
Fishermen will now have the option to purchase a boat that is made from a uniformed pattern which is built locally and not having to import these modernized units.
Fourteen (14) boat builders are being trained along with their workshop apprentices.
The training is being undertaken by the Project Implementation Unit of the Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project with assistance from the Fisheries Division.
