NEW TESTAMENT TEMPLE CHURCH OFGOD REFORESTING THROUGH FAITH

The New Testament Temple Church of God and its subsidiary Good Neighbors Community Outreach Agency will embark on an internationally supported faith based tree planting initiative, sowing seeds of faith – and trees, in Jamaica on June 11, 2022, at the Eastwood Park New Testament Church of God, 49 – 51 Eastwood Park Road Kingston 10.

The leadership of the New Testament Temple Church of God has taken up the charge to combat the global climate change, hunger and food insecurity crises with a spiritually enriched tree-planting initiative. Through the partnership with various organizations, the church seeks to populate the land with at least two hundred (200) fruit trees with value added potential.

“The faith communities in the diaspora are joining forces with the faith communities in Jamaica to support the spirit and intent of the Jamaica Tree Planting Initiative and, to promote agriculture, develop cottage industries, and address the balance of trade issues…” – Bishop Paul Peart, Senior Pastor, New
Testament Temple Church of God, NY

In collaboration with the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council, Forestry Department – JA, Church of God -NY, New Testament Church of God – JA, Glory Music – JA, Trees That Feed Foundation – IL and Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance – Caribbean Tree Planting Project – JA, the church will sow several thousand seeds of vegetables, grains, and faith, aligned with Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Most Honorable Andrew Holness’ National Tree Planting Initiative (NPTI), launched in October 2019. The NPTI is an important objective for the Government of Jamaica, and as such the Minister of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Senator the Honorable Matthew Samuda is in full support of the faith based tree planting initiative’s launch. The New Testament Temple family welcomes this collaboration with the minister as it is rooted in its conviction and projects to lend its vast resources of people, property, and potential productivity to cultivate the fundamentals of the faith.

“We have chosen Kingston and St. Andrew for the launch but we are actively signing up Churches in every parish for future Tree Planting Events.” Bishop Paul Peart, Senior Pastor, New Testament Temple Church of God, NY

The launch of this tree planting initiative is primarily to mobilize leaders in the faith community to return to the call and be caretakers of the earth as the scripture says in Genesis 2:15, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”
