The Peoples Labour Party (PLP), congratulates Prime Minister Phillip J Pierre on his resounding victory at the polls of the 2021 General Elections in St. Lucia on Monday 26th July 2021. Prime Minister Pierre and his St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) won 13 of the 17 seats in the House of Assembly.
The SLP which only had six (6) seats in parliament gained an additional seven (7) seats, giving them the majority and the mandate to govern for the next five (5) years. The SLP campaign slogan was “Putting You FIRST!!!” This echoes the motto of the PLP, “Putting People FIRST!!!” Also their tagline was, “We Are Stronger Together!!!” No doubt, the SLP, and the whole Caribbean were watching closely what was happening in St. Kitts and Nevis and learning from “The Fastest Growing Political Party in the Caribbean”.
Prime Minister Phillip J. Pierre was sworn into office on Wednesday 28th July 2021. Then his Cabinet was sworn in on Thursday 5th August 2021.
Prime Minister and Political Leader of the PLP, Dr. Hon. Timothy S. Harris, has extended congratulations to Prime Minister Phillip J. Pierre and the St. Lucia Labour Party on their victory, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Both regional Prime Ministers are proud alums of the University of the West Indies.
