The Executive, members and supporters of the Alternative Peoples’ Party (APP) wish to extend deepest and sincerest condolences to Mrs. Desiree John and family, as well as the extended family on the passing of the late, Patrick John.
We share our condolence with the Government and People of Dominica, especially the colleagues who worked – in various capacities – with the former, deceased Hon. Prime Minister. Mr. John’s service to our nation was endless, and we pray that his works and efforts in service to humanity will be remembered for generations to come.
In a recent release, His Excellency Charles Angelo Savarin, DAH, President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, declared that Patrick John’s “contribution to Dominica’s political independence will never be forgotten.” We at the Alternative Peoples’ Party concur with the President’s statement.
In our view, the passing of the former national leader symbolises the need for greater respect and tolerance for each other, and the continuous newness which naturally occurs in our human existence. This is even more true in electoral politics, and this is perhaps a good time for an honest pause and sincere introspection.
As our party enters a period of official mourning with the Government and People of the Commonwealth of Dominica, we hope the ancestors will gleefully receive our fallen leader. We once again extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, associates well-wishers of Mr. Patrick Roland John.
Sincerely in sympathy,
Julius Corbett
President (Ag.)
