Death Announcement of 83 Year Old  Newman Walter Joseph former Deputy Comptroller of Customs of St Joseph

We announce the death of Newman Walter Joseph Collins who died on April 20th, 2021. He was born on November 28th, 1937. Mr Collins was a former deputy Comptroller of Customs, sportsman, tour operator and farmer.

He is survived by:
Wife: Rosamund Collins.


Son: Edward Collins along with his mother Helenia Darroux

Daughter: Gina ColaireBrothers: Evander Joseph in Dominica, Dave Collins in Houston Texas and Jim Collins in Virginia.

Sisters: Corin Christmas, Josiane Dailey, Cheryl Leslie and Sherma Collins in Boston; Valarie Collins in New York and Sharon Alexander in Canada.

Numerous nieces and nephews including: Bernadette Joseph in New Jersey; Dr. D’Andrea Joseph in NY; Wenmouth Joseph and Rowena Lizin, Esq; in California; Marilyn Joseph-Durant in Florida; Conrad, Charles, Saran and Heskeith Albert Joseph in Dominica; Alice Joseph in Guadeloupe; Gretchen and Heather in the USA;

Grand nieces and nephews.In-laws: Davidson Elie, Johnson Elie, Gwendolyn Daniel, Vera Elie, Avril Elie and their families.

God-father: Mr Roy Royer and family. God-children including: Marylyn Joseph, Juslyn “Jama-B” Charles, Francis Thomas.

Several family members in St Joseph and Salisbury; the Rivieres including Sonn Riviere, Para Riviere and William Riviere and their families; the entire Vidal family including Vanty Vidal and Jonathan Vidal and their families; and the Josephs.Drs: Ken Jacob, Julian D’Armas, Portia Meade, Robertson Thomas, Spencer St Luce and Irving Pascal.

The staff of the Alford ward of the PMH especially Ward Sister Connie Edmund.

His caretaker: Josephine Joseph.

Funeral service will take place at the St. Joseph Catholic Church and interment at the Catholic cemetery on Tuesday, May 11th, 2021.

Viewing will be at 2:30pm followed by service at 3:00pm.
