It is with great sadness we announce the death of Mrs Pauline Olympe Junkerre, also known as Mrs Paulette Junkerre aged 99 years, who passed away peacefully on Saturday 5th September 2020, at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital.
The late Mrs Junkerre, born in Trois Riviere Guadeloupe, but residing in the village of Eggleston for more than 40 years – the birth place of her husband who predeceased her – the late Mr Oliver Junkerre is survived by her only son, George Junkerre currently resident in Guadeloupe, her daughters, Berthe Warner (St Thomas), Marie Sango (France) and Alice Ponponne and her son-in-law, Balthazar Ponponne.
Thirty-five grand-children including Marie-Therese Junkerre, Marie-Joelle and Sandra Ponponne in the UK, Harold and Mathais Junkerre, Jocelyn, Jacqueline, Janine, Jackie and Jacques Sango France and Guadeloupe), James Warner and Adele Smith-Warner, Jacqueline Hyman, Jan Pruitt, Jacinth and Gwenitta Warner, Roy, Maurice, Joshua, Linford, James, and Julian Warner, Nicole Smith-Jordan; David Fernandez-Cruz all in the USA, Kidly Alfred (adopted).
Forty-eight great grand-children including Christopher, Christabel, Benjamin, Dominic, Christina, Daniel, Oliver in the UK, Stephanie, Rudy in France, Cecilia, Alixis tin Guadeloupe, Ambrya Mack, Raphael, Manuel and Jerome Warner, Willie Pruitt Jr., Deion Pruitt in the US
Twelve great-great grandchildren including Tyrel, Shamarie, Sheleah, Cian, Keira, CJ, Tsari, Tamara, Thea, Marley
Numerous other relatives and friends including her sisters, Octavie and Rosette and brother Maurice Sinnivasin (Guadeloupe), Vilna Bethelmie, Adella Robinson, Winifred Timothy, Rosette and Blaize Alfred, Linus Joseph and numerous nieces and nephews in Guadeloupe including Felix Boozer
The Funeral Service of the late Mrs Junkerre will held at the Cathedral Chapel, Roseau and internment at the Roseau Catholic Cemetery, on Friday 25th September 2020 at 2.30pm.
A bus service will be available from the Eggleston Bus Stop for persons from the community wishing to attend the Funeral Service of the late Mrs Junkerre
The family of the late Mrs Junkerre requests that attendees wear a “touch of pink” Mrs Junkerre’s favourite colour, if possible.
