5 Young Dominicans Join Royal St.kitts Police Force

Five young Dominicans from various villages around the island are among the newest addition to the Royal St.Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

Charles Randel, Kelian Francis, Hickston Bannis, Samantha Samuel and Mitch Morgan successfully completed police academy which began on December 1,2019 and culminated with a graduation ceremony on July 9.

The officers who were all educated in Dominica, and didn’t attend any educational institution in St.kitts, applied to the Police Force and were called in for training.

According to Constable Morgan, he was in Dominica when he received his call.

While the authorities thought about postponing the training because of the COVID-19 pandemic, these thoughts were dashed aside and training continued with modifications such as jogging inside of the academy instead of on the road.

The recruits had little interaction with the outside world and were forced to remain inside of the compound because of the pandemic. However, they made it through and are extremely proud.

The recruits were schooled in Criminal Law, Child Protection Laws and received weapon training among other things.

Congratulations to these young Constables.
