As Dominica continues to celebrate its COVID-19 free status, and find ways to help the economy bounce back from the disastrous effects of COVID-19, the Ministry of Tourism and the Discover Dominica Authority has given the green light to select hotels and guesthouses to offer staycation packages to the general public.
Minister of Tourism, Hon.Denise Charles said that Staycation 2020 will offer Dominicans the opportunity to visit our world class resorts and hotels.
She said, “We want to see as many people as possible patronize our local resorts and hotels. Staycation 2020 will also enable our properties and activity providers to safely finely fine-tune their reopening protocols.
”Secret Bay Villages, Sunset Bay Hotel, Tamarind Tree Hotel, Manicou River Eco Resort, Sea World Guest House, Des Champs Hotel, Rosalie Bay Resort, Fort Young Hotel, Cabrits Resort and Spa Kempinski, Atlantique View Resort, Harmony Villa and Mango Island Lodges have all been approved to offer staycation packages.
The Minister said, “The Environmental Health Department and the Quality Assurance Unit at the Discover Dominica Authority are working with the Dominica Hotel & Tourism Association and other property owners to develop the plans so they can be reviewed and approved”.
