Kevin Scott is a young 18-year-old from petite Soufriere but presently lives at Good Hope. Kevin is the president of ‘A Child Needs Organization’. This is a non- profit that consists of members from a cross-section of the community.
Some members are teachers, community leaders and other young people like Kevin who are willing to volunteer and be of assistance to others. Kevin says, “I have always been willing to give to others especially to children whose parents are less fortunate. I was raised in communities where parents, especially single parents are struggling. I know what it is like for these families because my mother is a single parent as well. This is what inspired me to form this organization where students are helped academically, financially and in any other way possible”.
Kevin describes himself as a community guy, helping and serving young people in the communities of Petite Soufriere, San Sauveur, Good Hope, and Castle Bruce. Kevin began volunteering at church as a youth leader and continued doing so in his community.
Kevin advice to young people is ” you are never too young to do what inspires you the most”. He thanks his committee and the Youth Development Division Officer for the East, Mrs. Darroux, for being on board with him and assisting him with his dream to see young people prosper.
‘A Child Needs Foundation’ will host a fundraiser at San Sauveur throughout the summer in order to raise funds for their summer programme and also to purchase school supplies to donate to students for the new academic year. Kevin extends gratitude to the community and sponsors of the fundraiser. He urges all to come out and support the fundraiser in large numbers as it is for a worthy cause.
Emonews wishes Kevin Scott and his committee best of luck in their endeavors.
