Grenada and Republic of Korea Reaffirm Strong Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell recently received a farewell courtesy call from His Excellency Seijoong Kwon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Grenada, as the Ambassador concludes his tour of duty.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Mitchell expressed appreciation for the longstanding relationship between Grenada and the Republic of Korea and discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in areas such as digital transformation, technical and vocational education, and skills development.

Ambassador Kwon reaffirmed the strong friendship between the two nations, noting that Grenada was the first Caribbean country to establish diplomatic relations with Korea. Discussions also highlighted Korea’s continued support for Grenada’s development priorities, including recovery efforts in Carriacou and Petite Martinique, climate resilience initiatives, the blue economy, renewable energy, and agricultural innovation through the KO-Caribbean Smart Farm and agro-processing initiative with CARDI.

The Government of Grenada thanked Ambassador Kwon for his dedicated service and contributions to advancing cooperation and friendship between Grenada and the Republic of Korea.
