Professional and amateur athletes from CARICOM Member States and Associate Members will compete in the 19th CARICOM Road Run/Walk on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.
The event, which begins at 6:30 a.m., will feature an Elite 10K, Open 10K, Open 5K Run, and Open 5K Walk. Persons with disabilities are also encouraged to participate in the 5K events.
The Road Run/Walk is one of the activities being held alongside the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM under the chairmanship of Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister, Hon. Philip J. Pierre.
CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett said the event highlights the region’s commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and combating non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which remain a major health concern across the Caribbean.
The Elite 10K race will offer cash prizes, with first-place male and female finishers each receiving USD $1,000. Trophies will also be awarded to top finishers in the 5K categories, along with special recognition for the youngest and oldest participants who complete the event.
Organizers say the annual Run/Walk continues to promote regional unity, physical activity, and healthy living among Caribbean citizens.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
