Parliament in The Bahamas officially opened yesterday, marking the beginning of a new chapter in service to the Bahamian people following the Progressive Liberal Party’s victory in the May 12th general elections.
Member of Parliament for Golden Gates expressed gratitude to constituents for once again placing their trust and confidence in his leadership as he continues to serve the community.
The opening of Parliament also signaled the start of the Progressive Liberal Party’s second consecutive term in office, with the Government pledging to continue its focus on progress, good governance, and national development.
During the ceremony, the Speech from the Throne was delivered by Her Excellency the Most Hon. Dame Cynthia Pratt, Governor General of The Bahamas, officially opening Parliament.
The Member of Parliament also reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Bahamian people as he assumes responsibility for leading the ministries of Labour, Public Service, and National Insurance.
