Thirteen Corrections Corporals Promoted to Sergeant at Bahamas Department of Correctional Services

Thirteen Corrections Corporals were officially promoted to the rank of Corrections Sergeant during a brief ceremony held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Correctional Training Institute of the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

The promotion exercise marks the first phase of a wider institution-wide initiative that is expected to see hundreds of Corrections Officers promoted in the coming months.

During the ceremony, the Commissioner of Corrections congratulated the newly promoted officers and encouraged them to continue serving with excellence. He also announced that additional promotions would soon be rolled out across the institution.

Officials say the promotions form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and professionalism within the correctional services sector in The Bahamas.
