Youth Empowered Through Leadership Workshop in Carriacou
More than 20 participants from Carriacou and Petite Martinique have strengthened their leadership skills following a two-day “Training for Transformation” workshop held in Hillsborough on April 17, 2026.
The workshop, organized by the Division of Youth Grenada, was facilitated by former parliamentarian and motivational speaker Dame Joan Purcell.
Participants engaged in sessions focused on developing leadership skills through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on tools aimed at personal and professional growth.
Dame Joan Purcell emphasized that the initiative seeks to build a cohort of young adults equipped to lead transformation within their personal lives, families, communities, and the wider nation.
Officials say the programme represents a significant investment in the next generation, ensuring that future leaders across Carriacou and Petite Martinique are prepared with the confidence, skills, and values needed to drive meaningful change.
