Dominica stands at a dangerous juncture.
For the first time in our history, our people face the humiliation of U.S. visa restrictions, visa bonds, and our country pressured into accepting third-country deportees/refugees simply to regain basic travel privileges. These are alarming signals that our national credibility and future progress have been severely damaged – we are in dangerous waters.
This crisis is not the fault of ordinary Dominicans. It is the consequence of reckless leadership and the transformation of a Citizenship by Investment Programme into a passport mill, where our nationality was traded for fast cash with little regard for long-term national consequences. In effect, our sovereignty was recklessly peddled mostly for the benefit of the few, but now all our citizens are being asked to pay the price for their irresponsible action.
If we remain silent now, we will accept that our country can be reduced to a transaction.
If we remain silent now, we accept that our children will inherit a country whose passport will be a badge of suspicion rather than pride.
This is a national emergency.
The Electoral Reform Coalition (ERC) is therefore convening a major Public Forum to confront this crisis openly and fearlessly:
Venue: DPSU Conference Room
Date: Tuesday, 13th January 2026
Time: 7:00 p.m.
This forum will confront:
All opposition party leaders will be present, standing together in defense of Dominica. They will speak directly to the nation, exposing how we arrived at this moment, clearly explaining the dangers we now face, and, most importantly, proposing a practical and credible pathway forward for national recovery and salvation.
We will also hear from immigration attorney Tamika Jude and other respected social leaders, professionals, and influencers, both at home and in the Dominican diaspora. Their voices will reflect the deep concern of Dominicans everywhere and the shared determination to protect the honor and future of our nation.
This is a moment of unity, leadership, and responsibility to country above politics. It is not simply another meeting about party politics but about national survival and dignity.
This is about reclaiming control of our shared future.
