Death announcement of Joseph “T-Boy” Matthew of Paix bouche who resided in Houston Texas

We announce the death of Joseph “T-Boy” Matthew, a beloved 76-year-old from Dominica, who lived in Houston, Texas, peacefully departed this life on July 1st at the Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston. His passing followed a courageous battle with severe injuries he sustained in a recent accident. Known for his vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness, Joseph’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical staff at Memorial Hermann for their compassionate care during his final days.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Verdmay Matthew.

His children, Joseph Matthew and Anna Matthew Celestine of Baytown, Texas, Bertrand Matthew of Atlanta, Georgia, Vanessa Matthew Paul of Dominica, and Earlston Matthew of Saint Cloud, Florida.

He also leaves behind his cherished in-laws: Wendy Matthew, Marisa Matthew, Cleo Chumiso, Eric Celestine, and Valantere Paul.

Joseph was also a proud grandfather to Magaret Matthew, Zara Matthew, Rowan Matthew, Jahim Matthew, Aidan Matthew, Yannick Matthew, Kyana Paul, Taylor Celestine Vaida Paul, Valan Paul, Vittori Paul, Jayden Matthew, Jahleesha Matthew, Jonathan Matthew, Dishane Matthew, Jahzel Matthew, Megan Matthew, Logan Matthew, Serena Matthew, and grandsons-in-law Domink Castro and Karl Brown.

He was also a loving great-grandfather to Tyler Mikins, Tazley Mikins, Obediah Brown, Landon Matthew, Taylen Brown, Chayce Pinard, and Tiana Matthew.

He is also survived by his siblings: Liliane George, Linus Matthew, abd Ramuld Matthew of Dominica, Jerome Matthew of St. Maarten, Alexis Matthew of Guadeloupe, Fortune Matthew of New Jersey, and Agnes Andrew of France.

His aunts and uncle: Olive Maglore, Healen Magore, Janet Maglore, and Sentilier Maglore of Dominica

His loving brothers and sisters in law: Michael Patt, Joseph Patt (Benita) Humble, Randy Janice, Delores Green (Jake), and Veronica (Fado) of Houston TX. Lee Allen Patt Sr. (Rose) of Hockey TX, Felton Patt III (Leslie) of Kingwood TX, and Sandra Martin (Mark) of Port Arthur TX. 

He will be remembered by many friends, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

Funeral Service:

A family viewing will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A public viewing will follow from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM at 6123 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas, 77521.
