17 Receive Certificates From CALLS CFLI Project

The Center Where Adolescents Learn to Love and Serve (CALLS) in collaboration with the Canada Fund For Local Initiatives (CFLI) completed a 20 day assessors training to enable instructors to deliver training in Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) subjects and Early Childhood Education.

CFLI coordinator, Tamaisha Eytle said that the fund is part of the Canadian Government’s commitment to improving lives and livelihoods, economic empowerment and empowering people to help others. She congratulated CALLS for their innovation in focusing not only on infrastructural development but also on the development of the 17 recipients who are equipped with skills to build Dominica and the region by extension. She reminded the individuals that they have become part of the future of innovation and education for the Caribbean.

Participants agreed that while the training was not easy it was truly rewarding. They learned that while everyone will not become a doctor, every young person can possess a skill that can propel he or she into his or her future.

The CFLI also assisted in refurbishing the daycare center and remodeling the bathroom area at the center.
