Some of the major characters of plays written and directed by Dr. Alwin Bully will come back to life when former members of the People’s Action Theatre reunite in a Virtual Tribute to their Hero, Alwin Bully, at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday 25th March 2023.
The Tribute which will begin with an official recognition of the Bully Family for Alwin’s contribution to the development of the theatre movement in Dominica and the rest of the Caribbean, will be followed with a short presentation by Dr Lennox Honychurch on Alwin’s life and the theatre.
Then cast members of Alwin’s repertoire of blockbuster plays, such as Good Morning Miss Millie, Streak, The Ruler, The Nite Box, Folk Nativity, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pio Pio, Green Gold among others, will have the opportunity to relive the exciting moments on stage going back to the 1970s when the People’s Action Theatre entertained the Dominican and Caribbean people with high quality theatrical performances.
The former members of the People’s Action Theatre are proud and thankful of having been given the opportunity to share those life changing experiences with Alwin and Anita. We consider Saturday’s virtual Tribute to be a humble gesture of appreciation to Alwin and ask Dominicans and the rest of the Caribbean to join us as we pay homage to Our National Hero, Dr. Alwin Anthony Bully.
The event will be live on Zoom and streamed on social media platforms including the Alwin Legacy Facebook page and Dominica News online. Other media houses are free to stream on their various platforms.
