Dominica Athletics Association Kids’ Athletics Primary Schools Tour

The Dominica Athletics Association (DAA) is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 DAA Kids’ Athletics Primary Schools Tour, scheduled to take place from Monday, 19th May to Friday, 30th May 2025. This island-wide initiative aims to further strengthen grassroots development in athletics through direct engagement with primary school students.

Kids’ Athletics is recognized globally as one of the most impactful youth development programmes in sports. As part of its ongoing commitment to nurturing athletic talent and promoting lifelong physical activity, the DAA has implemented several initiatives under its Kids’ Athletics Program. These include:

  • A 4-Week Kids’ Athletics Camp
  • Two Kids’ Athletics Festivals
  • Kids’ Athletics “Train the Trainers” Workshops

Building on this momentum, and in observance of Kids’ Athletics Month, the DAA will bring its exciting program to selected primary schools across the island. Each session will run from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., focusing on students from Grades 4 and 5, and will feature engaging activities in jumping, running, and throwing. The following schools will be visited by the Kids’ Athletics Team on the following days and times;

  • Monday 19th May – Southern District: Grand Bay Primary School
  • Wednesday 21st May – Western District: Petite Savanne Primary School and Berean Christian Academy (Bath Estate Playing Field)
  • Friday 23rd May – Northern District: Roosevelt Douglas Primary School
  • Monday 26th May – Northeastern District: Will Strathmore Stevens Primary School
  • Wednesday 28th May – Eastern District: Penville Primary School
  • Friday 30th May – Eastern District: Jones BeauPierre Primary School

Each participating student will receive a Certificate of Participation, and each school will be presented with a copy of the Kids’ Athletics Handbook to support the continued integration of athletics into their Physical Education curriculum.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
