The Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities is thrilled to announce the election of our esteemed member, Judy Sango, as the President of the World Council for Churches Ecumenical Disability Advocates Network (EDAN) Youth Network during the recent workshop held in Guyana from December 16-19, 2024. This significant achievement reflects her unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities in Dominica and throughout the Caribbean.

As President of the EDAN Youth Network, Judy’s primary role will be to help implement the Port of Spain Declaration of 2023, which calls for inclusive policies and enhanced advocacy efforts to ensure that persons with disabilities are actively involved in decision-making processes. During the workshop, participants discussed practical strategies to bring the declaration’s commitments to life, emphasizing collaboration among Caribbean nations to uplift the rights of individuals with disabilities.

In addition to her role with EDAN, Judy also serves as the President of the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities and is the Caribbean Representative for the Commonwealth Disabled Youth Forum, showcasing her dedication to fostering a more inclusive society.
