The National Bank of Dominica Ltd. is the Premier Bank Sponsor of Dominica’s 24th Annual World Creole Music Festival

The National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) proudly announces its return as the Premier Bank Sponsor of the 2024 World Creole Music Festival, reaffirming its commitment to Dominica’s cultural heritage with a significant contribution of $250,000 in cash and kind. This substantial sponsorship underscores NBD’s ongoing dedication to promoting the island’s rich Creole traditions and fostering national unity through culture.

As part of NBD’s contribution, the Bank will serve as the Premier Supplier of Banking Services for the festival. Through the use of portable point-of-sale (POS) machines, NBD will streamline transactions for vendors and festival-goers, ensuring faster, cashless payments. This innovative service will enhance the overall festival experience, benefiting both vendors and customers.

“NBD is honored to be the premier sponsor of the World Creole Music Festival for the third consecutive year,” said Kareem Bertrand, Manager of Human Resources and Talent Management at NBD. “Our contribution of a quarter-million dollars, in cash and kind, reflects our commitment to supporting not just this iconic festival but also the cultural traditions that define us as a people.”

As part of its broader corporate social responsibility, NBD remains active in supporting various community initiatives. These include partnerships with the Dominica Association of Aging, the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities, the Cancer Society, the NBD/Ministry of Sports Primary Schools Football Championship, and the NBD/Ministry of Education Math Power Contest.

Additionally, NBD has launched its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative, which includes the recent Plant a Tree campaign and the introduction of a school gardening program. This program is designed to promote environmental stewardship and food security, encouraging students to engage with nature and adopt sustainable agricultural practices.

“NBD’s mission extends beyond banking services. Supporting initiatives that protect our environment, promote our culture, and unite our people remains at the heart of our values,” added Mr. Bertrand.

The National Bank of Dominica Ltd. encourages all citizens and visitors to join in the Creole festivities, which celebrate the island’s unique heritage through music, food, and dance. NBD is proud to contribute to the success of this year’s festival and is eager to continue its partnership with the Dominica Festivals Commission.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
