The Old Oven Art Gallery is proud to announce its newest exhibition and art for sale, “Nature Series”, a captivating collective that brings together the works of two Dominican artists, Marica Honychurch and Michael Lees. This special collection celebrates the diverse and breathtaking landscapes of Dominica, offering art enthusiasts a unique opportunity to own a piece of the island’s natural beauty.
Running from October 1 – 15, 2024, Nature Series highlights the artists’ deep connection to Dominica’s untouched beauty. Through their distinctive styles, Honychurch, and Lees present evocative representations of the island’s vibrant landscapes, dramatic coastlines, and tranquil rural scenes, each artwork reflecting the true nature of Dominica.
Marica Honychurch, a renowned photographer, is celebrated for her impressionistic approach that captures the rich textures and colours of Dominica’s environment. Her works in this exhibition focus on the island’s lush rainforests, iconic mountains, and coastal vistas, rendered with a delicate blend of realism and artistic expression.
Michael Lees, known for his documentary films and visual art, offers a unique perspective through his photography and mixed media pieces. Lees’ work in Nature Series captures the island’s raw, untamed beauty, combining natural landscapes, drawing viewers into the serene yet powerful essence of Dominica’s wilderness.
