Trade union officials from around the Caribbean participated in a 3-week ILO training from July 22 to August 9, 2024

Congratulations to the 20 trade union officials from around the Caribbean who are ready to take their participation in international labour standards (ILS) processes to the next level following a 3-week ILO training!

They now have a better understanding of their role in the ILS system, functioning of supervisory mechanisms and submission of reports to the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (CEACR).

Their successful completion means that they can better represent workers’ needs and rights before their countries ratify Conventions as well as during implementation and reporting.

Special thanks to Her Honour Ms. Deborah Thomas-Felix, former President of the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago, ILO Actrav, International Trade Union Confederation, Caribbean Congress of Labour and ITCILO for collaborating with us on the training programme!
