On Saturday, April 27,2024 members of the Dominica Lions Club joined with Lions and Leo
Clubs across Sub-District 60B for the 2024 Worldwide Induction Day Ceremony organized by
the District’s Global Membership Team.
30 prospective Members from the North East Comprehensive School Alpha Leo Club, 1 from
the Dominica Lions Club, and 2 from the Dominica Leo Club were inducted among 86 members across the Sub-District. The ceremony was held online with local Lions and Leos gathering at the North East Comprehensive School. Among the inductees was Lion Kyma Augustine, a North East Comprehensive School teacher who will serve as the Club’s Faculty Advisor. This will also serve as a resurgence of the Alpha Leo Club, the school-based Leo Club, at the NECC, promoting the LEO values of Leadership, Excellence, and Opportunity among the youth.
The Lions and Leos were also joined by Lion Christian Jean Charles, past President of the
Lions Club of Guadeloupe Doyen, and his partner in service Madlyn. This ceremony is just one of many initiatives organized annually and this year is especially noteworthy as the Clubs are contributing to Lions Club International’s goals to increase its membership to 1.5 million from 1.4 dubbed “Mission 1.5”
