Roseau, Dominica – March 6, 2024 – The Government of Dominica is thrilled to announce the official launch of the ShePreneurs Stop & Shop Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and supporting local businesses in urban areas. The tour will take place from March 07 – 11, 2024.
Aligned with the International Women’s Day theme, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” the ShePreneurs Stop & Shop Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of women while promoting economic empowerment.
The ShePreneurs Stop & Shop Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour will provide a dynamic platform for showcasing the products and services offered by women-owned businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs. Participants will explore designated tour routes tailored to showcase local products, businesses, and cultural landmarks, creating economic opportunities and fostering partnerships.
“We’re excited to launch the ShePreneurs Stop & Shop Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour,” said Honourable Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency. “This initiative empowers women entrepreneurs and pilots investment in transportation solutions. Our goal is a Go Green Bus for better city connectivity, fostering a vibrant, resilient, and sustainable Roseau.”
This collaborative effort between various ministries and the Build Back Equal Project invites the various media houses to join us for the ceremony on the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard at 10 am on March 07, 2024. This event marks a significant step in promoting inclusivity and diversity within the entrepreneurial community.
The organizers invite everyone to actively support this initiative. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and create a more inclusive and equitable society.
About the Organizers: The ShePreneurs Stop & Shop Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour is organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in collaboration with the Ministries of Tourism; Labour, Public Service Reform, Social Partnership, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development; Environment, Rural Modernisation, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment; the Office of the President; and UN Women.
