The 7six7sports club basketball training program is a community-based program that has been training young men and women in the game of basketball for the past 12 years in Dominica. Founded by Dunstan “Maggie” Peters, this program is geared at decreasing youth involvement in crime and violence through sports and provides opportunities for them through sports.
We will be hosting the 2023 Christmas Basketball Camp from December 18 to 22, 2023 at the Bath Estate Basketball Court from 9am to 12 noon daily. Registration fee is EC$100 and each camper will receive a Camp T-Shirt.
We seek to identify and develop talent. Introducing the game of basketball and creating the next generation of basketballers. We seek to create an environment where we welcome kids at any skill level and spend the time to develop and guide them. We feel that basketball (sports) is a tool that can be used to create opportunities for youth. Sports has developed into a tool that provides opportunities to further education and also opportunities to earn.
Over the years we have developed players who now are playing for local clubs in the DABA National League. Players who are now in various US colleges and high schools. Presently we have Jacob Barry at the Baton Rouge Community College in Louisiana, Malik Laurent at the Champion University in Arkansas and Kesean Shillingford at The Newman School (MA.) and The House That We Built AAU. We are committed to exposing youths to the game of basketball and providing that pathway for them to use basketball as a tool for development.
