Roseau, Dominica- August 11, 2023: The Government of Dominica is aware of a rumour circulating via radio talk shows and social media falsely claiming that the Botanic Gardens has been sold to a foreign buyer for the development of a golf course.

The Government of Dominica advises the general public that the Botanic Gardens has not been sold to any private or foreign entity nor has the Government entered into any agreement to develop a golf course or any other project at the Botanic Gardens.

The public is further informed that proposed plans for the development of the Botanic Gardens being shared via social media were generated four years ago and were not considered or approved by the Government of Dominica.
