(NBD) proudly announces the successful completion of its second annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a month-long initiative aimed at promoting online safety and security within the community. Throughout the month, NBD organized a series of activities targeting businesses, seniors, parents, students, and customers, fostering awareness and education on cybersecurity.
NBD recognizes the ever-increasing importance of cybersecurity in our digital age and remains committed to equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves online. As part of the Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Bank conducted informative sessions, workshops, interactive events to address specific needs across diverse age groups and collaborated with Digicel Dominica to host a cybersecurity webinar.
Protecting Seniors Online – A Resounding Success:
One of the highlights of the Cybersecurity Awareness Month was the event for seniors, aimed at enlightening them about the potential risks and best practices in safeguarding their information online. The informative session received an overwhelming response, with seniors expressing their gratitude to NBD for the valuable insights provided. Many participants highlighted the relevance of such initiatives, stating that they now feel more empowered to navigate the digital landscape safely.
Cybersecurity Essay Competition: Inspiring Future Defenders of the Digital Realm:
As part of the month-long campaign, NBD organized a Cybersecurity Essay Competition, targeting high school and college students. This competition aimed to encourage the youth to examine cybersecurity, fostering a greater understanding of its significance, the threats and impact on society. The essay competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from talented students, showcasing their creativity and understanding of the subject. Six students from various schools were rewarded for their outstanding work on August 02, 2023.

The positive feedback from participants, especially the seniors and students, has fueled NBD’s commitment to cybersecurity education.
