This year’s Windward Islands School Games (WISG) hosted in Grenada is currently ongoing having started on Saturday 22nd July, 2023. The games will culminate on 29th July, 2023. So far Dominica has put on an excellent showcase of their talents and skills.
In the Track and Field events held on Saturday, Dominica obtained several medals including a Bronze medal by Neo Davis in the boys 1500m race, the 4 x 100m relay bronze medal, a Bronze medal in the 4 x 400m boys relay, a Bronze medal by Godisha Joseph in the girls shot put, a Silver medal by Godisha Joseph in the girls discus, a Silver Medal by Kyron Phillip in the boys discus, a Silver medal by Cherister Durand in the girls 800m race, a Silver Medal in the girls 4 x 400m relay and a Gold medal by Neo Davis in the boys 800m.
In all, Dominica ended the first day of the WISG with 4 bronze medals, 4 silver medals and a gold medal.
Heading into day two on Sunday 23rd July, Dominica dominated all its three events obtaining wins against St. Lucia in male volleyball (3-0) and netball (29-27) and a win against St. Vincent and the Grenadines in male basketball (104-43).
As team Dominica continues into today’s games we wish them all the best in the upcoming games and extend congratulations on all victories thus far.
