The Regional Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will hold this Thursday, July 6, the digital seminar “Chinese experience on digitalization of rural areas and the role of e-commerce on poverty alleviation: a reference for Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The event will feature a presentation by Mr. Haibo Zhu, a technical expert in e-commerce and digitalization, who will show his country’s successful experience in implementing Taobao village models, XiuShan County, and the role of e-commerce in rural poverty alleviation.
Dina Lopez, FAO South-South Cooperation Officer, and Milza Lopez Cerda, project monitoring and evaluation specialist, will join him.
The activity is part of the project “Response and Recovery to the Impact of COVID-19 on rural livelihoods and agri-food systems in the countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) through South-South Cooperation”, a program that is being implemented in 12 countries of the region.
