Miss Dominica 2023 and National Volleyball Player Adicia Burton has been bestowed the honor of being Dominica’s Flag Bearer for the opening ceremony of the 5th ALBA Games in Venezuela which officially gets underway on Friday.
The Kalinago beauty is also one of the top female volleyball players on island and is set to represent Dominica in Beach Volleyball and Indoor Volleyball at the ALBA Games.
Burton says she is honored to lead team Dominica in Friday’s Opening Parade.

11 countries will be participating at the games which will bring over 3000 athletes together over the next 2 weeks.
The countries are Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Russia and the host country Venezuela.
The games will feature a total of 35 sports disciplines.
Dominica will be represented in 10 sporting disciplines.
Wednesday evening also saw the official flag raising ceremony.
Representatives from each participating country were present for the short event.
Dominica’s delegation included the Chef de Mission Yehudi John, President of the National Volleyball Association Albert Loblack, Athletes Adicia Burton, Addison James and Sandra Joseph, and head of Delegation and representative for the Minister of Sports Trevor Shillingford.
