It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of 82-year-old Jearne Durand better known as ‘Ma Mc Neil’ or ‘Ma-Zer’ of Morpo, who died on the morning of Wednesday 1^st March 2023 at her daughter’s residence in Corvington, Georgia, USA.

She leaves to mourn:

• Her 4 Children –  3 daughters, Clemie Charles in Dominica, Emmanuella Caldwell in the USA and Theresa Mondesire in Antigua; 1 son Reginald Alexander in Dominica

• Her Adopted Son – Elwin Jno Baptiste in the USA

• Her Grandchildren –  Jurnell Prince & Seanell O’Mard in the USA, Nevin & Neil Hamilton, Denielle Mondesire, Brianna Charles and Sandy in Antigua, Racheal & Lyn Jno Baptiste in the USA and Eldin Jno Baptiste in Dominica

• Great Grandchildren – Nana in Ghana, Dylan & Mia Prince in the USA and Serenity Charles in Antigua

• Her Daughter-in-Law – Vernice Jno Baptiste in the USA

• Her Sons-in-Law – Geraud Mondesire in Antigua & Rodney Caldwell in the USA  

• Her Sister – Noelise Laurent

• Her Adopted Sisters – Staphanie Wilshire & Ilma St. Louis

• Several Nephews – including: Pastor Romain Graham in Barbados, Agar Austrie, Alexander, Pake, Allie Patrick, Ferdinand, Johnson, Atto, IO, Sylvester, Edmond, and Wilson in Dominica

• Several Nieces –  including: Maria, Elizabeth, Gertrude & Veronique Laurent, Marcella Mitchel, Maxin Graham & Francillia Francis

• Her God Children – including: Kenny Antoine & Margaret Titre

• Her Grand Nieces – including: Zilma Charles Darroux, Kathy Andrew, Selina, Jermima, Cindy, Catherine, Nina, Mahailia & Irvenia

• Her Grand Nephews – including: Miguel, Todwell, Kerwin & Constable Charlie Charles

A memorial service and interment of the remains of the late Jearne Durand better known as “Ma Mc Neil” or “Ma-Zer” will be held at a later date.
