After a two year hiatus, one of the most anticipated events of the carnival season, the National Calypso Monarch, is back in its regular format. The Dominica Calypso Association(DCA) held the draw for the Calypso finals lineup on Friday. The draw was broadcast live on the fb page of the DCA. At the draw, Shanice Langford who goes by her stage name ‘ Shanice’ drew number one, which makes her the opening act at Saturday’s show.
The lineup is as follows, from first performer to tenth:
1. Shanice
2. Jaydee
3. Trilla G
4. Tasha P
5. Black Diamond
6. Dice
7. De Bobb
8. De Healer
9. Mighty D
10. Daddy Chess
President of the DCA, Davidson ‘Observer’ Victor, thanked God that the Association is able to have Calypso in this format again. He also thanked all sponsors for their contributions.
The grand finals will be held on Saturday 18, February at 8:30 at the Windsor Park Stadium.
