I Have A Right Foundation Inc. (IHARF) is a non-profit rights based organization which is passionate and determined to create platforms that give children, girls and youth a voice by educating them about their rights and enabling them to become change makers through education, leadership, mentorship and creative programs such as our girlhood programs.
Our Girlhood programs focus on elevating the voices of adolescent girls to help ensure they have the opportunity, life skills and resources to advocate for their own empowerment by providing a safe space where their voices can be heard and valued.
IHARF hosted its first “She Wins! Girlhood Brunch” in April which aimed to empower young women to explore alternative, viable forms of careers by questioning cultural limitations. The impact of this program has inspired a follow up initiative of challenging young girls to develop SMART goals which can support their overall development. Hence, on June 4th, 2022, IHARF will be hosting, ‘She Wins! Girlhood Brunch Vol 2’, under the theme “The Art of Ambition as a Woman”. This event will challenge young girls to plan effectively for their personal, academic, professional and financial growth and success. It will be aired live on EmoNews from 11:30am
Our Girlhood influencers include, Ms Luana Laurent, founder of Finance Focus; Civil Engineer Jodie Dangleben who is also the proprietor of Jaydee’s Naturals; Healthy Living Advocate, Doctor Zoriah Telemaque; and Environmental Specialist, Artist and Founder of Loiza Phang Inc., Jahna McLawrence. Scholar, Advacate, Social media influencer and recent MBA graduate José Thomas, from Marigot, will deliver the empowering Girlhood Keynote Address.
This brunch targets 30 girls from the North Eastern rural communities from ages 12-18. A panel discussion will first be held where the panelists will inspire participants using their personal journey of overcoming challenges and achieving success. This will be followed by small group interactive sessions where the girls will have the opportunity for greater involvement and participation with the influencers.
IHARF is excited to see the impact that this program will have on the lives of the young participants and welcomes your support and contribution in making this program a success.
