RESULTS OF TABLE TENNIS GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT HELD AT THE DOMINICA PUBLIC SERVICE UNION


Cher Seaman and Edger Berridge emerged the champions in the Table Tennis Grand Prix extravaganza over the weekend which was participated by members of the Association.
Men Quarter Finals Edger Berridge won Peter Letang 11-7, 11-6, 11-8
Wanito Aaron won Jonathan Panthier 11-9, 11-8, 11-6, 8-11, 11-5
Devon Prince won Josue Robinson the scores 11-8, 10-12, 13-11, 11-4
Jaleel Lewis won Maqquel Auguiste 8-11, 9-11, 11-9, 12-10, 11-9


Following the Round Robin events for the male category Edger Berridge, Wanito Aaron, Devon Prince, and Jaleel Lewis qualified for the semifinals. In the first semifinals Edger Berridge won Wanito Aaron 6-11,12-10,11-3, 11-5, and in the second Devon Prince won Jaleel Lewis 11-9, 11-6, 11-7.


In the Men Finals Edger Berridge and Devon Prince continued their quest for the first position, Edger Berridge was victorious in the best of four sets 11-3, 11-5, 11-1, 11-4. In the Female Finals Cher Seaman won Keanna Dorsette 11-9, 11-6, 11-3, and Kimisha Jno. Baptiste placed third.

At the opening ceremony The President of the Dominica Olympic Committee Billy Doctrove admonished that there is no shortcut to success and that engaging the youth in all our future endeavors should be the number one priority.

The President of the Dominica Table Tennis Association Peter Letang commented that it was a great day for Table Tennis to see the members turn out today and that the Table Tennis is in great hands. Grand Prix are expected to be held in selected districts to spread the game, increase membership, and develop Table Tennis among members and
prospective members.
