We announce the death of: John Charles better known as “Ton John” or “Pick it Up” of Dublanc

Age: 87           

He died on the 15th March 2022 at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital

He was the father of:

 Children: Jacqueline Charles, Annarose Charles-Elwin – Staff Member of Forestry Division, Juanesse Zamore,Paula Charles and Eddie Zamore

Adopted sons: Willie and Anson

He will also be remembered by:

Sons in Law: Daryl Elwin and Dominique Ramlall

Daughter in law– Marie-Laur Zamore

Brothers:  Matthew Placid and Philson Nicholas

Sisters: Theresa Sweney and Evadney Jean Paul in Dominica, Davina Jean Paul in Texas

Grandsons: Gregs Julien, Meddie Zamore, Jemuel Ramlall, Mason Victor, Rodrique Numitor and Henry Numitor

Granddaughters:  Charlene Lery, Annamary Seraphine-Alexander-Staff Member of the Ministry of Agriculture, Shaminey Walsh-Dupuis- A Teacher at the Goodwill Secondary School), Lizeanna Laudat-Victor- Staff Member at Royal Rockshire Hospital, Sabrina Zamore, Maeddie Zamore and Rachel Ramall

Grandsons- in-law: Atlee Alexander, Yannick Victor, Elias Dupuis and Charlsen Lery

Friends and family: including the Charles, Adams, the Lowe and Benjamin families, Nathanie and Vernel Shillingford in Dublanc, Lionel Pinard, Rosette Bertrand, Irving Shillingford and family, Rose, Patrickson, and the Celestine Family in Portsmouth, the Charles Family in Bellefontaine (Martinique), the communities of Dublanc, Bioche, Colihaut and Portsmouth.

The body of the late John Charles known as “Ton John” or “Pick it Up” will be transported from Lyndhurst Funeral Home for viewing at 2:30 p.m. at the Dublanc Catholic Church on Saturday 2nd April 2022. Funeral Service begins at 3:00 p.m. followed by interment at the Dublanc Catholic Cemetery.
