PORTSMOUTH, FEBRUARY 15, 2022 – Arbeedee Limited is pleased to announce the opening of its health-conscious, fast-casual restaurant on Boroughs Square, Portsmouth, called Water’s Edge. The restaurant’s site had been Douglas Snackette since it was first built in the late 1960s. In keeping with Dominica’s resilience agenda, the new restaurant is part of the Company’s drive to become sustainable within five years.
“When faced with the option to rent the final unit on the newly renovated ground floor, shareholders were adamant that Arbeedee Limited must maintain its restaurant in that space,” said Joyce Dear, Chairperson, Board of Arbeedee Limited. “As we looked at our market positioning, it became clear that the health dimension was compelling. Not only is there a resurgence of Seasonal, Organic, Unprocessed, and Local trends in food across the globe, the continued growth in lifestyle diseases from poor food choices is a reality that Dominicans must respond to. Healthy eating can be cost-effective, with no compromise on taste, and this is what Water’s Edge will provide.“
The Company believes that positioning a fast-casual restaurant directly on Boroughs Square is a wise long-term investment for Arbeedee Limited and for Portsmouth.
“We are driven by our love for our community, Portsmouth. As such, Water’s Edge is a smart long-term investment for Arbeedee Limited and Portsmouth”, said Joyce Dear. “Water’s Edge promises a culinary journey of wholesome breakfasts, nutritious salads, choice soups, signature grills, mouth-watering snacks, and delicious desserts to soothe or stimulate your appetite, alongside surprise smoothies, pure juices, and coconut water, all catering to your health needs. Also, the occasion will see the return of Douglas Ice Cream to its original home, available in cones, cups, and take-home tubs, as well as in milkshakes and ice cream desserts like ice café and banana split!”
Water’s Edge offers in-house, telephone, and online ordering for eat-in, take-out, collection, or delivery and provides larger-scale catering for functions. Customers can select their favorites to suit their very own tastes and palates when doors open on February 18, 2022. Usual opening hours will be 6:00 am to 6:00 pm from Mondays to Saturdays and 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Sundays. Dietary counseling will be available by appointment.
