The 2021 Caribbean Examinations Council Regional Top Awards Ceremony, held virtually at the Saint Nicholas Veterinary School of Medicine in the British Virgin Islands on February 10, 2022, saw Dominican students emerging with several top awards for the June/July 2021 CAPE, CSEC and CCSLC Examinations. The ceremony was also broadcasted across the Caribbean Region as the awardees across the Caribbean received their awards in their respective countries.
First off, the 2021 ACCA CAPE Accounting Awards was awarded to Rondell Davis of the Academix School of Learning. Following in ACCA CSEC for Principles of Accounts, two students of the Dominica Grammar School also received this award, in the names of Noah Mitch Alexander and Sarah Elizabeth Francis.
The highlight of the awards was Dominica receiving the top awards across the region for Top Male Performer and Top Female Performer at the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) Examinations. The awardees were Jason Joseph of the Castle Bruce Secondary School and Tana Valmond of the Dominica Grammar School. Tana excelled with Master’s in English and Mathematics and also received Grade Ones in CSEC Principles of Business, Virtual Arts and Physical Education. Jason also received Master’s in English and Mathematics and went on to receive a Grade One in Agricultural Science, Grade Two in Principles of Accounts and a Grade Three in Information Technology.
Senator Honorable Gregory Riviere, Acting Minister of Education bestowed the awards to Tana Valmond and Jason Joseph during the virtual ceremony.
