Housing Recovery Project Benefiting 420 Families
The Housing Recovery Project (HRP) which commenced in 2019 is an islandwide project designed to replace destroyed homes while building resilience in the housing sector in Dominica.

Successful applicants are provided with financial, technical and administrative assistance through HRP to implement, the owner-driven reconstruction process. Financial support is provided in the form of a grant, to the homeowner, with payment released at key construction stages of a resilient new home. The HRP will assist 420 beneficiary families with durable small homes.

CREAD provides supervisory technical assistance to the HRP and Senior Capital Projects Manager, Glen Laville said: “This is a transformational project that not only helps direct beneficiaries but will also provide standard resilient home models for other persons interested in building a resilient small house. The plans and specifications for these small houses will eventually be made available to the general public. CREAD has been supporting the HRP Project Implementation Unit throughout the design and implementation process.” View the evolution of the HRP above.
