The Dominica Youth Business Trust held its Annual Graduation ceremony at the UWI Open Campus Auditorium on Wednesday 26th January 2022.
Among those present were the Prime Minister of Dominica Honorable Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency Mrs. Melissa Poponne Skerrit, Ag. Minister for Youth Empowerment Mr. Gregory Riviere, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Sylvannie Burton and Permanent Secretary Ms. Missy Henderson, Ag. Assistant Chief Youth Development Officer Ms. Caesarina Paul, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Phillip Rolle and Executive Director of the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce and Trustee, Lizra Fabien.
Attendees enjoyed the addresses made by the distinguished persons and the musical stylings of local artist, Dhar’Gelle.
Among the many promising young entrepreneurs, Mr. Lornson Alexander received the award for the Most Determined Male Entrepreneur and Ms. Nora St. Rose received the award for the Most Determined Female Entrepreneur.
The Graduation also celebrated the esteemed achievements of Business Plan Innovation Award Winners, 15th Entrepreneurial Development Programme Trainees, 25th and 26th Small Business Assistance Facility Trainees , Social Enterprise Incubator 1st Cohort and Community Outreach Entrepreneurial Development Programme trainees from the Western District.
